Quoting

I´ll write about two quotes:
I)"It´s only after we´ve lost everything that we´re free to do anything" From the film "Fight club"
II) "El hombre no posee naturaleza sino historia" From the book "El tema de nuestro tiempo" By Ortega y Gasset

Contextualización: Al hablar del hombre de historia, me refiero al que está rodeado por los hechos pasados, el cálculo ineludible del futuro, una sociedad que marca todas las pautas y unas aspiraciones vitales plenamente capitalistas.

I find these two quotes so meaningful because I think that the human been hasn´t only evolved postively. We are not animals because we have the ability to think, what is a huge advantage for our specie.
Our survival is guaranteed, but, since the greek philosophers gave all the importance to the reason, we´ve aspired to happiness using it.

As Ortega y Gasset said, humans don´t have nature anymore, and from my point of view, thats the main obstacle
All the things we have, all the people we want to protect, the house we´re already paying, the job we aspire to, or the one we don´t want  to loose are positive things for the history man.

But the nature man disappears when we have all these things, and we can´t be happy if we don´t put them together. (I mean the history and nature man)

The nature man is absolutely free to do anything, he doesn´t know any morals and he doesn´t have anything to loose. He lives like an animal.

Our body has been designed to be like that, so that the happiness feeling is only produced when nature man reaches his aspirations.
Nevertheless, we´ve lost it all, we are subjugated to artificial morals and society made us contain our instincts.

And this is the meaning I find in the film "fight club", in which a "happy" history man got stuck and literally destroid everything he had.
He created a figthing club for people who want to disconnect from their civilized lifes, and they all reached a mind freedom that really made them enjoy.

Does it sound crazy? sure! You´re a history man!
